The Opportunity:
As a Senior Attendance Manager, you will lead strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence. You will coordinate admissions and leavers, manage statutory functions, and provide guidance on attendance policy. This role is key to ensuring every student achieves excellence through early intervention and strong data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
- Coordinate admissions and leavers processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare complex court documentation for legal proceedings, including Attendance Order Proceedings (CME) and Fixed Penalty Notices.
- Advise colleagues on whole-school attendance policy and legal sanctions.
- Engage with families, external agencies, and senior leaders to support attendance improvement.
- Analyze attendance data to identify trends and intervene early in cases of persistent absence.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and legal procedures.
- Collaborate with external agencies to support students and families.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in attendance management within an educational setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with families and external agencies.
- High-level data analysis skills and the ability to interpret attendance data.
- Experience in preparing legal documentation and managing statutory functions.
- Ability to lead and advise on whole-school attendance policy and legal sanctions.
- Resilience and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Preferred
- Experience in legal proceedings related to attendance, including CME and Fixed Penalty Notices.
- Experience working within a school that is part of a multi-academy trust.
- Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
- Knowledge of Co-op values and a commitment to ethical leadership.
