The Opportunity:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with individualized learning plans and help create an inclusive, inspiring environment. You will work closely with the SENDCO to ensure all students receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of learning programmes for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining positive routines and behaviour management strategies.
  • Encourage student engagement in extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Monitor and record student progress and provide regular feedback to the SENDCO.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Participate in staff development and training sessions to enhance teaching and support practices.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos by demonstrating the core values of respect, commitment, and trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the SENDCO.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
  • A relevant qualification or experience in education or child development.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and practices.
  • Experience with behaviour management and support plans.
  • Familiarity with the Co-op Academies Trust and its values.
