The Opportunity:

As a Room Coordinator, you will manage the day-to-day running of the Direction Room, ensuring a calm and positive environment that promotes positive student behaviour. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student lives within a forward-thinking and supportive institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise students in the Direction Room, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Promote and enforce high standards of behaviour and discipline in line with school policies.
  • Support the pastoral team in delivering consistent and effective student care.
  • Liaise with teachers, students, and parents to address concerns and maintain open communication.
  • Monitor and report on student attendance, punctuality, and behaviour on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the organisation of pastoral events and activities that support student wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student behaviour and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a pastoral or student support role within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to promoting positive behaviour and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school or college environment.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and pastoral care practices.
  • Experience working with young people and understanding of their needs.
  • Familiarity with educational policies and procedures.
