Senior Curriculum Manager - English to lead curriculum development and teaching at a school.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Curriculum Manager - English, you will lead curriculum development, ensure high-quality teaching and learning, and contribute to strategic improvements across the school. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and committed to student success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of curriculum content, delivery models, and innovative teaching approaches.
  • Oversee student progress, behaviour, and achievement, ensuring robust assessment and accreditation processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day organisation of courses and support staffing arrangements.
  • Contribute to recruitment, admissions, enrolment, and induction processes.
  • Liaise with colleagues, partner organisations, and external agencies.
  • Teach on appropriate courses and support the management of the Programme’s cost centre.
  • Authorise purchases within budget and contribute to income-generating initiatives.
  • Support staff recruitment, induction, performance management, and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in curriculum development and teaching within Further Education.
  • Strong background in quality assurance and leadership.
  • Deep understanding of national and local issues affecting post-16 learners.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and data effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in leading teams and supporting staff development.
  • Knowledge of innovative teaching approaches and digital learning tools.
