The Opportunity:
As Senior Deputy Head of Academic & Enrichment, you will provide strategic leadership across curriculum, teaching, and enrichment for Years 3–8. This role offers the opportunity to shape academic vision, support staff development, and ensure pupils are inspired and challenged in a supportive and ambitious environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the academic vision for Years 3–8, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Champion a vibrant and inclusive co-curricular programme, including post-exam provision for Year 8.
- Contribute to inspection readiness and support smooth progression through the school and into senior schools.
- Support admissions and retention by promoting the school’s academic strengths to prospective families.
- Deputise for the Head and contribute to the strategic direction of the school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain an excellent pupil experience.
- Drive staff development and ensure pupils are challenged, supported, and inspired.
- Maintain strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families based on trust and respect.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with significant leadership experience in a prep or similar setting.
- Strong track record in academic leadership and curriculum development.
- Passion for enrichment and holistic education.
- Experience in supporting staff development and pupil progression.
- Ability to work effectively within a senior leadership team.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a co-curricular programme.
- Familiarity with inspection processes and standards.
- Experience in admissions and retention strategies.
- Background in promoting the school’s values and ethos.
