The Opportunity:
As a Senior Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting science education and ensuring the smooth operation of science facilities. You will lead the science technician team, manage equipment and resources, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality practical learning experiences for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the science technician team to ensure efficient operations.
- Maintain and manage science equipment, resources, and laboratory environments to the highest standards.
- Provide technical support for science lessons, experiments, and extracurricular activities.
- Uphold strict health and safety protocols and safeguarding procedures.
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance the learning experience for all students.
- Ensure that all science facilities are well-maintained and ready for use.
- Support the delivery of after-school science clubs and enrichment activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of science-related initiatives and projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a science technician role, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to health and safety and safeguarding standards.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a team or leading projects.
- Knowledge of modern science equipment and laboratory practices.
- Experience with curriculum development or supporting practical science learning.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools.
