The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated Site Assistant to join our Estates Team and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of our school sites. This role is essential in ensuring the school environment remains safe, clean, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the routine maintenance and upkeep of school buildings and grounds.
  • Identify and report faults across the school site to ensure timely repairs.
  • Ensure accessibility for disabled students and staff by maintaining clear pathways and entrances.
  • Clear snow and apply salt to paths and steps during icy or snowy conditions.
  • Collect and dispose of litter from designated collection points.
  • Report blocked drains and gullies to the relevant teams.
  • Perform basic cleaning duties as required, including daily cleaning of assigned areas.
  • Support cleaning staff during periods of staff shortage or special events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant L2 qualification or equivalent experience in estates or maintenance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full driving license.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and cleaning procedures.

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Experience with cleaning and maintenance equipment.
