The Opportunity:
As a Youth Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16+ through their personal, social, and educational development. You will help them build confidence, life skills, and a strong sense of identity, preparing them for a successful transition into adulthood. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people within a dynamic and supportive institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide young people in their personal, social, and educational development.
- Organise and deliver educational programs and recreational activities such as sports, arts, and drama.
- Assess and support the health, social, and emotional needs of young people.
- Plan and manage community and social events to promote engagement and development.
- Help young people understand key values, ideas, and life skills.
- Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Ensure a safe and respectful environment for all learners.
- Collaborate with other staff to support the overall development and well-being of young people.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous relevant experience working with young people.
- Strong knowledge of creating and maintaining healthy relationships based on trust and respect.
- Ability to support young people in developing confidence and life skills.
- Experience in organising and delivering educational and recreational activities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Preferred
- Experience in youth work or a related field.
- Knowledge of educational frameworks and support systems for young people.
- Experience working with young people aged 16+.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the use of virtual learning environments (VLE) and digital tools.
