The Opportunity:

As an English Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that empower students to achieve their goals. You will support learners of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and achievement, taking action to address any concerns
  • Provide clear targets and timely, constructive feedback to support learner development
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, including standardisation and continuous improvement activities
  • Carry out duties in line with school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher (or working towards) with a strong English subject background
  • Experience delivering teaching in a learning environment, ideally within Further Education
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to support a range of learner needs
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to track progress and maintain accurate records

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Familiarity with digital learning tools and resources
  • Experience in curriculum development or assessment design
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in education
