As a Sixth Form Pastoral Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students' personal development and ensuring a positive, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of sixth form students
- Work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure the smooth running of the department
- Promote and maintain a positive school culture in line with the school’s values and Code of Conduct
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries
- Provide guidance and support to students in a pastoral capacity
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent and effective pastoral care
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s pastoral programme
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with young people in a pastoral or support role
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Commitment to the school’s values and ethos
- Flexibility and a team player with a positive attitude
Preferred
- Experience in youth work, public service, or social services
- Background in education or pastoral care
- Knowledge of safeguarding and student welfare procedures
- Experience in a Catholic or Jesuit educational setting
