The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Social Sciences, including Sociology and Health & Social Care.
  • Support student learning through innovative teaching strategies and continuous professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share resources and improve teaching practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and enrichment activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Social Sciences or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Sociology and Health & Social Care curricula.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons.
  • Commitment to student welfare and inclusive education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college setting with a focus on sixth form education.
  • Experience with continuous professional development and collaborative teaching.
  • Familiarity with A level and Level 3 Applied General courses.
  • Experience with safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
