The Opportunity:

We are seeking a committed and reflective practitioner to teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-resourced and enthusiastic department dedicated to student success and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons to Key Stages 4 and 5 students.
  • Work collaboratively with the Subject Leader to enhance student learning and progress.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes in GCSE and A-level Sociology.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching Sociology.
  • Experience in delivering lessons at Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Commitment to student progress and academic achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in using technology to enhance learning.
  • Previous experience in a high-performing school setting.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Part-time contract at 0.4 FTE.
  • Temporary position from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027.
  • Competitive pay scale (MPR/UPR).
