The Opportunity:
We are seeking a committed and reflective practitioner to teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-resourced and enthusiastic department dedicated to student success and academic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons to Key Stages 4 and 5 students.
- Work collaboratively with the Subject Leader to enhance student learning and progress.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes in GCSE and A-level Sociology.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
- Participate in departmental meetings and staff development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in teaching Sociology.
- Experience in delivering lessons at Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Commitment to student progress and academic achievement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
- Experience in using technology to enhance learning.
- Previous experience in a high-performing school setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time contract at 0.4 FTE.
- Temporary position from 1st September 2026 to 31st August 2027.
- Competitive pay scale (MPR/UPR).
