The Opportunity:

As a Spanish Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality language education to students from Year 7 to Year 13. You will contribute to a department that values academic achievement, language immersion, and cultural awareness, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish to students across a wide range of year groups, including those preparing for GCSE and A Level qualifications.
  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote language proficiency, literacy, and cultural understanding.
  • Collaborate with other language teachers and department heads to ensure consistent and high-quality teaching across the school.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as study visits and language competitions, to enhance students’ learning experiences.
  • Support the development of students’ language skills through innovative teaching methods and the use of modern audio-visual resources.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the Languages Carousel in Year 7 and other language-related initiatives.
  • Maintain high academic standards and ensure that students are prepared for examinations and assessments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Spanish or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level, ideally up to GCSE and A Level.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take on leadership responsibilities when required.
  • Commitment to promoting language learning and cultural awareness.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in a co-educational or boarding school environment.
  • Familiarity with the use of interactive teaching technologies and audio-visual equipment.
  • Experience in organizing and leading extracurricular language activities.
  • Knowledge of other modern languages, such as French or German, would be an advantage.
