As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students’ academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering a dynamic and engaging curriculum.
- Support students in achieving success at GCSE and A-Level, working closely with the Head of English.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s Future Skills Vision.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and events that enhance the student experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as part of a strong, supportive team.
- Stay up to date with current educational trends and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including professional development and school initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong academic background in English.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Experience teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Commitment to safeguarding and student well-being.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the Future Skills Vision or similar educational initiatives.
- Involvement in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities.
- Experience with Sixth Form teaching or post-16 education.
- Background in delivering innovative and creative teaching methods.
- Familiarity with Cognita’s educational philosophy and values.
