The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Spanish lessons that engage and challenge students across all key stages.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement a stimulating and effective curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results, with a strong focus on GCSE and A Level outcomes.
  • Organise and lead cultural events, competitions, and trips that enhance the learning experience.
  • Work closely with the Head of MFL and other subject leads to ensure consistency and quality across the department.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Spanish teaching and incorporate innovative practices into classroom delivery.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through pastoral care, co-curricular activities, and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS and experience in teaching Spanish at secondary level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Experience of teaching across key stages, ideally from Year 7 to Year 13.
  • Commitment to student achievement and a proven track record of academic success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a strong co-curricular programme.
  • Familiarity with AQA and Edexcel exam specifications.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and events.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience of working in a collaborative and forward-thinking department.
