The Opportunity:
As a Spanish Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality language education to students at Key Stage 3 and 4. You will contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and support students in preparing for GCSE Spanish and other relevant qualifications. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Spanish to Key Stage 3 and 4 students in line with the school’s curriculum and policies.
- Prepare and deliver engaging and effective lesson plans that meet the needs of all learners.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on students’ work in accordance with school procedures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental schemes of work.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the faculty group and across the school.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized teaching and encouragement.
- Undertake safeguarding responsibilities in line with school policies and legal requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in teaching Spanish at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons in line with curriculum requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Experience in working within a school environment and following school policies and procedures.
Preferred
- Experience teaching French at Key Stage 3 or above.
- Experience with GCSE Spanish qualification preparation.
- Familiarity with using technology in the classroom.
- Experience in working with students with additional needs.
- Flexibility to work part-time (minimum 0.7 FTE).
