The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. This role is central to supporting the development and delivery of inclusive education across the school. The SENCO will work closely with senior leaders and staff to ensure that all learners receive the highest quality support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting to lead and manage the Inclusion Team
• Designing and delivering professional development for Learning Support Assistants
• Supporting strategic planning with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion
• Overseeing the development and review of Individual Education Plans
• Coordinating summative assessment processes for students of determination
• Monitoring and enhancing inclusive teaching practices through learning walks and environment reviews
• Supporting the recruitment, training, and performance development of LSAs
• Leading CPD initiatives to strengthen whole-school inclusive practice

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A recognised British teaching qualification and QTS
• A recognised SENCO qualification or in the process of attaining it
• Proven experience in leading inclusion in a primary school setting
• Strong knowledge of current best practice in SEND and inclusive education
• Experience of managing and developing support staff teams
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational and leadership skills

Preferred

• Experience in a school with a strong focus on inclusion and pastoral care
• Experience in delivering CPD and training to staff
• Experience in developing and reviewing Individual Education Plans
