The Opportunity:

An EAL Teacher is needed to support students aged 4–11 in developing their English language skills. This role is essential in helping learners access the British Curriculum and thrive academically and socially. The successful candidate will contribute to a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality EAL support through targeted small-group and individual teaching
• Support pupils in developing the academic language required to access the British Curriculum
• Work collaboratively with class teachers to scaffold learning and adapt classroom practice
• Monitor pupil progress and implement interventions to accelerate language acquisition
• Contribute to the development of the school’s Primary EAL provision
• Promote a classroom culture of high expectations, curiosity and respect
• Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Support pupils preparing for Cambridge English assessments and IELTS, where appropriate

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A relevant university degree
• A recognised teaching qualification
• A minimum of three years’ teaching experience
• Experience supporting EAL learners within a primary setting
• A strong understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL strategies
• The ability to adapt to a fast-paced international school environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Preferred

• Experience with Cambridge English assessments and IELTS
• A reflective and innovative approach to teaching and learning
