The Opportunity:

As a Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact through individualised teaching, assessment, and planning tailored to each student’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver inclusive lessons for individual and small groups of students.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, planning next steps for students on the SEND register.
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans for students with EHCPs.
  • Utilise modern teaching methods and technologies, including video conferencing and online resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and development.
  • Engage with students and their families to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in special educational needs and inclusive teaching.
  • Contribute to the school’s innovative approach to education and self-directed learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children across all key stages.
  • Experience working with children with severe and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.

Preferred

  • Experience with self-directed learning frameworks.
  • Familiarity with technology-empowered learning environments.
  • Experience with video conferencing and online teaching tools.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
