Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialist speech and language assessments and interventions tailored to individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with education and clinical teams to embed clinical excellence across the school.
• Support the development and implementation of communication plans based on student profiles.
• Participate in staff training and provide consultation to education staff as required.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of clinical practice through research, special interest groups, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain detailed case management and intervention records in line with professional standards.
• Engage with families and carers to support student progress and outcomes.
• Stay up to date with current legislation and best practices in speech and language therapy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles.
• Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings.
• Experience communicating with families and carers.
• Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and familiar with RCSLT Communication Standards.
• Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies.
• Understanding of legislation relevant to clinical practice.

Preferred

• Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
• Knowledge of the relationship between arousal levels and communication.
• Full driving license and access to a car.
