The Opportunity:

As a School Bursar, you will provide strategic leadership in financial and operational management, ensuring the school runs efficiently and in line with its vision. This is a pivotal role that supports the school’s continuous improvement and high standards across all non-academic operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial management, budgeting, payroll, and regulatory compliance
• Manage estates, IT, catering, and supplier contracts
• Coordinate health and safety processes, including fire and lockdown procedures
• Support admissions and marketing oversight
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external partners
• Ensure compliance with all non-academic regulatory requirements
• Act as a deputy for senior leadership when required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership presence and ability to work proactively with limited supervision
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance costs and benefits
• Competent in key applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Demonstrable success in leading multidisciplinary teams
• Evidence of ongoing professional development

Preferred

• Customer service expertise, including managing queries and complaints
• Experience in property or facility management
• Mindset of continual improvement and service excellence
• Experience working across multiple sites and stakeholders
• Experience within a school or complex organisation
