The Opportunity:

As the School Bursar, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school. This is a leadership position that requires strategic vision, financial acumen, and the ability to manage a wide range of operational responsibilities. You will be instrumental in supporting the school's mission and ensuring its continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all non-academic operations, including finance, budgeting, payroll, estates, IT, catering, and administration.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and lead health and safety processes.
  • Support the Head and Senior Leadership Team in driving the school’s long-term vision and continuous improvement.
  • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and performance management support.
  • Coordinate admissions, marketing, and supplier management to maintain the school's high standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong leadership presence and ability to manage complex processes with accuracy and calm.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams with commercial and operational priorities.
  • Competent in key applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrable success in managing budgets and financial operations.

Preferred

  • Experience in property or facility management.
  • Customer service expertise, including managing queries and complaints.
  • Experience in a school, school group, or complex organisation.
  • Financial or operational qualifications (e.g., health and safety or safeguarding accreditations).
