The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic children and young adults through tailored speech and language therapy. You will work within a trans-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality support across all levels of care, helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert speech and language therapy advice and support to students across universal, targeted, and specialist tiers.
  • Assess individual needs and set appropriate learning targets within your scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with a trans-disciplinary team to plan and monitor student progress.
  • Apply the latest research and evidence-based practices in your work.
  • Manage a complex caseload, prioritising and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Contribute to the development and adaptation of personalised learning programmes.
  • Support students in achieving their communication and language goals.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in speech and language therapy with autistic children and young adults.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to set appropriate goals in complex cases.
  • Knowledge of specialist speech and language therapy techniques and practices.
  • Ability to manage a complex caseload and prioritise effectively.
  • Commitment to working within a trans-disciplinary team.

Preferred

  • Experience with co-occurring conditions in autistic students.
  • Background in using innovative and evidence-based approaches to therapy.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individualised learning programmes.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, carers, and other professionals.
