The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist assessment and intervention to pupils with a range of communication needs. This is a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting pupils to achieve their full potential in a rewarding educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessment and intervention to pupils with diverse needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team to support pupils’ communication development.
  • Maintain a caseload of pupils, with regular supervision and support from the clinical team.
  • Contribute to the development of individual support plans based on pupils’ needs.
  • Engage in research projects, special interest groups, and training opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ensure all practice aligns with professional standards and legislation.
  • Support staff training and consultation as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree or Masters in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with complex communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Experience of communicating with families and carers
  • Good relationship building, analytical, and judgmental skills
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Competence in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies
  • Full driving license and access to a car

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that impact communication
  • Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
