A school dedicated to providing individualised education through a communication-centred environment, supporting children aged 3.5 to 11 years old with tailored curricula and small class sizes.

The Opportunity:

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering specialist assessment and intervention to pupils with diverse needs. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in an education setting that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the education team and multidisciplinary professionals to support pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergent needs, or SEMH challenges.
  • Maintain a caseload of pupils under the guidance of a designated clinical supervisor and site lead.
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
  • Apply the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working to ensure consistent and high-quality practice.
  • Engage with families, carers, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, assessment tools, and intervention strategies.
  • Participate in research projects, training, and development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • 1-2 years of experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT working in a similar setting
  • Experience working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working in a range of settings
  • Experience communicating with families, carers, and other professionals
  • Good relationship-building, analytical, and judgmental skills
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
  • Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools and intervention strategies
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to clinical practice and professional management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Willingness to attend training and work towards further qualifications
  • Experience working with pupils with autism spectrum disorder

Preferred

  • Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication
  • Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
