The Opportunity:

As a Fundraising and Engagement Associate, you will play a key role in shaping and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the school’s mission and vision. This is an opportunity to drive impactful donor engagement and build a sustainable culture of philanthropy within a dynamic and forward-thinking institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic regular and annual giving programme aligned with the school’s vision.
  • Manage day-to-day fundraising activities, including planning and executing appeals via digital, direct mail, and personal solicitations.
  • Coordinate donor relations, stewardship, and gift management systems to ensure accurate data maintenance and effective donor engagement.
  • Analyse donor data to identify trends and develop targeted, data-driven fundraising strategies.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation, including data protection and best practices from professional bodies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers and fundraising committees, to enhance donor relationships and expand networks.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports on fundraising progress and projections.
  • Support the delivery of the school’s charitable vision through event attendance and ambassadorship.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Demonstrable experience in fundraising, particularly in a philanthropy-focused role.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful fundraising strategies.
  • Experience with donor database management, including knowledge of CRM systems such as ThankQ/Access Charity.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of data protection legislation and donor stewardship practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred

  • Experience in project management and donor engagement.
  • Knowledge of best practices in fundraising and donor relationship management.
  • Experience working within a school or educational institution.
  • Familiarity with the work of professional fundraising organisations such as CASE and the Institute for Fundraising.
