The Opportunity:

As a Central Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of key areas within the school. This position ensures that students, staff, and visitors enjoy a safe and welcoming environment, contributing to the overall success of the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain designated areas, including toilets, bathrooms, and shower facilities, to the highest standards.
• Use appropriate powered cleaning equipment for vacuuming, shampooing, and polishing floor areas.
• Assist with setting up and taking down desks and tables during exam periods.
• Adhere to all health and safety, security, and COSHH compliance policies.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Perform additional duties as requested by the Cleaning Supervisor or Managers.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Previous cleaning experience in a work environment.
• Good verbal communication skills and literacy.
• Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.

Preferred

• Specialist cleaning knowledge and experience with powered cleaning equipment.
• Flexibility to work during term time and school holidays.
• Experience in a school or educational setting.
