The Opportunity:

As a Sports Assistant, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and supportive school community. You will assist with sports lessons, support pupils in the classroom, and contribute to the organisation of fixtures and activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of sports lessons and activities across all age groups.
  • Assist with the organisation and management of fixtures, events, and sporting activities.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to pupils in the classroom and during sporting events.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive sporting culture.
  • Support the boarding community through evening and weekend duties, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Assist with supervision of routines, trips, and activities for boarders.
  • Collaborate with the PE and Games Department to enhance the sporting experience for students.
  • Engage with pupils in a way that promotes confidence, teamwork, and personal growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine commitment to working with young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when required.
  • Enthusiasm for sport and physical activity.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or assisting with sports activities.
  • Previous experience working with children in a pastoral or academic setting.
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding and welfare practices.
  • Experience in a boarding or day school environment.
