The Opportunity:

As a Summer Camp Day Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of an exciting four-week summer programme. You will provide pastoral care, assist with learning and cultural activities, and help create a safe and enjoyable experience for campers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people in a vibrant and inspiring environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent pastoral care for campers, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Assist in delivering engaging learning and cultural experiences.
  • Support the planning and execution of fun and educational excursions and trips.
  • Help assess student work and contribute to end-of-stay reports.
  • Manage day-to-day student behaviour and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Boarding and wider camp team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of evening and weekend activities.
  • Be on call for emergencies such as incidents, fires, or intruders.
  • Support with pocket money collection and distribution.
  • Assist with first aid and health-related issues as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and safety.
  • Willingness to work a 6-day rota, including evenings and some weekend duties.
  • Full DBS clearance.

Preferred

  • First Aid training.
  • Experience in teaching or learning support.
  • Teaching or coaching leadership qualifications.
  • Experience in sports or extra-curricular activities.
