The Opportunity:
As a Summer Camp Day Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of an exciting four-week summer programme. You will provide pastoral care, assist with learning and cultural activities, and help create a safe and enjoyable experience for campers. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with young people in a vibrant and inspiring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent pastoral care for campers, ensuring their health, safety, and wellbeing.
- Assist in delivering engaging learning and cultural experiences.
- Support the planning and execution of fun and educational excursions and trips.
- Help assess student work and contribute to end-of-stay reports.
- Manage day-to-day student behaviour and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Head of Boarding and wider camp team to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of evening and weekend activities.
- Be on call for emergencies such as incidents, fires, or intruders.
- Support with pocket money collection and distribution.
- Assist with first aid and health-related issues as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to student wellbeing and safety.
- Willingness to work a 6-day rota, including evenings and some weekend duties.
- Full DBS clearance.
Preferred
- First Aid training.
- Experience in teaching or learning support.
- Teaching or coaching leadership qualifications.
- Experience in sports or extra-curricular activities.
