Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming and well-organized space for students and staff.
  • Promote reading and literacy across all year groups through engaging programs and events.
  • Assist students and teachers in finding and using library resources effectively.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery and learning outcomes.
  • Oversee the borrowing and returning of library materials, ensuring proper care and organization.
  • Monitor and evaluate the use of library resources to ensure they meet the needs of the school community.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school policies and initiatives.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant qualification in library science, education, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing school libraries or similar educational resources.
  • Knowledge of digital resources and library management systems.
  • Experience in developing and delivering reading programs or literacy initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
