The Opportunity:

As a Sports Fellow, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of sports and co-curriculum programmes, helping to develop sporting excellence and promote a “sport for all” mentality. This is an ideal opportunity for a new graduate or someone seeking professional experience in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the school’s sports and co-curriculum programmes across a range of sports.
  • Promote a “sport for all” mentality and encourage participation among all students.
  • Work with students to develop individual and team sporting excellence.
  • Collaborate with other staff to deliver the school’s high-performance sports programme.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to students in focus sports such as hockey, rugby, cricket, lacrosse, netball, tennis, and strength & conditioning.
  • Contribute to the overall sporting culture and ethos of the school.
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of sporting events and fixtures.
  • Support the development of student leadership and team spirit through sports.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualification or experience in sports coaching or a related field.
  • Commitment to promoting a “sport for all” mentality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience working with young people in a school or sporting environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or teaching within a school setting.
  • Knowledge of strength & conditioning or elite performance sports.
  • Experience with sports programmes such as hockey, rugby, cricket, or lacrosse.
  • A graduate degree or relevant postgraduate qualification.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £19,127 per annum.
  • Free accommodation and meals provided during term time.
  • Fixed-term 10-month contract from August 2026 to June 2027.
