The Opportunity:

As a Student Experience Officer, you will be instrumental in shaping the student journey through a variety of engaging and impactful activities. This role is ideal for someone passionate about enhancing student life and creating a positive, inclusive environment that supports personal and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Student Experience Strategy that aligns with the school’s vision and values.
  • Coordinate and supervise a calendar of events across the school to raise aspirations and enhance the student experience.
  • Deliver a range of activities throughout the student journey, including 1:1 support, group work, workshops, and events.
  • Collaborate with curriculum managers and personal development tutors to support the development of interpersonal skills.
  • Monitor and review the uptake of extra-curricular activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
  • Identify and address barriers to participation, safeguarding, and welfare concerns in partnership with relevant teams.
  • Assist with general student activities, including open evenings and enrolments, and support wider college teams as required.
  • Regularly evaluate the impact of activities using the CDI framework and Compass evaluation tool.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience (A level or equivalent)
  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Level 2 IT qualification or willingness to work towards it
  • Level 3 Preparing to Teach qualification

Preferred

  • Experience of coordinating Duke of Edinburgh awards and volunteering opportunities
  • Experience and understanding of the Further Education sector
  • Experience of working with mixed ages, cultures and abilities
  • Experience of overseeing/monitoring a budget and building costings for events
