As a Student Support Specialist, you will play a key role in guiding students and families through the college planning and application process. You will support students in researching colleges, preparing applications, and developing essential skills for higher education success. Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet one-on-one with students and families for check-ins and guidance
  • Assist students in researching and identifying suitable colleges and universities
  • Guide students through the application process, including timelines, essays, and deadlines
  • Support students in preparing first drafts of college essays, resumes, and interview skills
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and counseling sessions
  • Stay informed on college admissions trends, financial aid opportunities, and scholarship options
  • Collaborate with counselors to ensure personalized support for each student
  • Provide resources and information to help students make informed decisions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree in Communications, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with college admissions processes and requirements

Preferred

  • Experience in education or student support
  • Familiarity with local high school curriculums
  • Experience with academic planning or college counseling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
