Summer Camp Nurse (Residential) role available for July to August 2026.

The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a qualified and compassionate Summer Camp Nurse (Residential) to provide essential medical and pastoral support during the 2026 Summer Camp. This role is central to ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all campers, with a focus on first aid, medication management, and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical and pastoral care for day and boarding campers, including safeguarding and wellbeing support.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all medical matters during the camp.
- Administer first aid, routine medications, and emergency medical care in line with policies and consent forms.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including medication logs and incident reports.
- Safely store, monitor, and administer medication in line with medical protocols.
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing, including reassurance during anxiety or homesickness.
- Coordinate with external medical services, including GPs, pharmacies, or emergency services.
- Support health and safety procedures, including infection control and emergency response planning.
- Assist with excursions and activities, ensuring medical readiness and emergency equipment is in place.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Nurse or Nurse in Training (e.g., student nurse in final years).
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational, residential, healthcare, or camp setting.
- Valid First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain prior to camp.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency or high-pressure situations.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise.
Preferred
- Experience working in boarding schools, residential camps, or holiday programmes.
- Experience supporting overnight or on-call care.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and pastoral care frameworks.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work a 6-day rota, including evenings and overnight duties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
