Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning in English at both GCSE and A Level.
  • Inspire students through a creative and innovative curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with the English department to continually improve teaching practices.
  • Support students in achieving their academic potential and personal growth.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking and a love of literature.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of the AQA Literature and Language course.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as theatre, media, and enterprise events.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to students where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student success and personal development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience in delivering AQA GCSE and A Level courses.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Previous experience in a Catholic school or similar environment.
  • A proven track record in student achievement and engagement.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental training and development.
