The Opportunity:

As a Summer Camp Residential Monitor, you will be responsible for the safety, wellbeing, and supervision of students during the Summer Camp programme. This role is essential in ensuring that students are supported, engaged, and following all procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral care and support students’ physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Ensure students follow all boarding and school procedures, including sign-in/out, meals, and bedtime routines.
  • Supervise students at all times, including during offsite excursions.
  • Communicate any concerns to the Camp Director and Boarding Coordinator immediately.
  • Chaperone students on excursions and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
  • Participate in evening activities and support student engagement and social interaction.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas and manage materials used during activities.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire, intruder alerts, and other incidents.
  • Support first aid and health-related matters with the Camp Director and Nurse.
  • Assist with arrival and departure processes, including welcoming families and managing airport transfers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Advanced or Proficient English language skills (C1–C2 level required).
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, child safety, and wellbeing.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsible during emergencies.
  • Valid permission to work in Portugal.
  • Criminal record certificate issued within the last three months.
  • Availability to attend training and work from 24 June to 25 July 2026.

Preferred

  • Experience in residential or youth supervision settings.
  • Previous experience in education or childcare.
  • Knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, nights, and varied shifts as part of a rota system.
