The Opportunity:

As a Swimming Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality swimming lessons to children aged 3 to 13. You will help build confidence, safety skills, and a lifelong love of swimming in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and structured swimming lessons to children of varying abilities.
  • Develop water confidence and safety skills in pupils across all age groups.
  • Manage swim squads, improvers lessons, and after-school activities such as water polo and lifesaving.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment in the school’s indoor swimming pool.
  • Collaborate with the sports coaching team to support the school’s swimming programme.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress in swimming skills and confidence.
  • Promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere during all swimming-related activities.
  • Maintain a high standard of teaching and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Fully qualified Level 2 swimming teacher with relevant teaching experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children aged 3 to 13.
  • Commitment to promoting water safety and confidence.
  • Ability to deliver structured and engaging lessons.

Preferred

  • Experience with swim squads or after-school swimming activities.
  • Knowledge of teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Understanding of curriculum-based swimming programmes.
