The Opportunity:
As a Swimming Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality swimming lessons to children aged 3 to 13. You will help build confidence, safety skills, and a lifelong love of swimming in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and structured swimming lessons to children of varying abilities.
- Develop water confidence and safety skills in pupils across all age groups.
- Manage swim squads, improvers lessons, and after-school activities such as water polo and lifesaving.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment in the school’s indoor swimming pool.
- Collaborate with the sports coaching team to support the school’s swimming programme.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress in swimming skills and confidence.
- Promote a positive and encouraging atmosphere during all swimming-related activities.
- Maintain a high standard of teaching and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Fully qualified Level 2 swimming teacher with relevant teaching experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with children aged 3 to 13.
- Commitment to promoting water safety and confidence.
- Ability to deliver structured and engaging lessons.
Preferred
- Experience with swim squads or after-school swimming activities.
- Knowledge of teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Understanding of curriculum-based swimming programmes.
