The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Computing to join a dynamic and supportive team from September 2026. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in students’ lives, helping them develop the skills and resilience needed to achieve their ambitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, consistent computing lessons aligned with the school’s teaching and learning foci.
- Manage student behaviour effectively through positive reinforcement and appropriate sanctions.
- Collaborate with the Head of Faculty to identify opportunities to support and challenge students.
- Joint-plan schemes of work with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum.
- Use standardised lessons and PLCs (personalised learning checklists) to support student progress and understanding.
- Deliver end-of-topic assessments and provide targeted feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
- Promote a culture of mutual respect and intentional excellence within the classroom and across the school.
- Support the development of a five-year curriculum that prepares students for GCSE qualifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong pedagogical background and a passion for computing education.
- Experience in delivering high-quality computing lessons on a consistent basis.
- Ability to manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Commitment to working within the school’s teaching and learning foci.
- Willingness to collaborate with the Head of Faculty and other teachers to plan and deliver schemes of work.
Preferred
- Experience with ECTs (Early Career Teachers) or a track record of supporting professional development.
- Familiarity with the use of PLCs (personalised learning checklists) and standardised lesson planning.
- Experience with computing curriculum development and GCSE specification.
