The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate Teacher of English to join its English and Literature department and teach Key Stage 3 students. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and potential progression to a second-in-charge (2iC) position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 students
  • Develop engaging and creative teaching methods to inspire young learners
  • Plan and prepare effective lesson resources and schemes of work
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission and values
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students to support learning and progress
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practice

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Enthusiasm and commitment to teaching
  • Strong command of the English language, including grammar, literature, and writing
  • Ability to engage and motivate Key Stage 3 students
  • Good organisational skills and ability to plan lessons effectively
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred

  • Basic understanding of curriculum requirements at Key Stage 3
