The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate Teacher of English to join its English and Literature department and teach Key Stage 3 students. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional development and potential progression to a second-in-charge (2iC) position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 students
- Develop engaging and creative teaching methods to inspire young learners
- Plan and prepare effective lesson resources and schemes of work
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s mission and values
- Communicate regularly with parents and students to support learning and progress
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practice
- Support the school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment
- Stay up to date with curriculum requirements and best practices in English education
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Enthusiasm and commitment to teaching
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, literature, and writing
- Ability to engage and motivate Key Stage 3 students
- Good organisational skills and ability to plan lessons effectively
- Willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment
Preferred
- Basic understanding of curriculum requirements at Key Stage 3
- Experience with teaching English in a secondary school setting
- Interest in professional development and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues
