Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons that inspire and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and pedagogical practices.
  • Promote a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to support student learning and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or currently working towards it.
  • Proven experience in teaching English at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and digital tools.
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting early career teachers.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
