The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic Teacher of English to join our supportive department on a maternity cover basis. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning and development, while contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across the curriculum, inspiring students and fostering a love of language and literature.
- Support students in developing strong literacy skills, including reading, writing, and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver an engaging and inclusive curriculum.
- Use the IB Learner Profile to guide teaching and encourage internationally-minded students.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that challenges and supports all learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in English education.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for teaching English.
- Ability to deliver engaging and challenging lessons to students of all abilities.
- Experience working in a school environment with a commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with the IB curriculum or inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Background in teaching students across a range of abilities and learning needs.
- Familiarity with pastoral care and student support strategies.
- Experience in a non-selective school setting.
