The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a passionate and motivated Part-Time Geography Teacher to support a fixed-term maternity cover role. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational practitioner who can motivate students and deliver a dynamic, modern curriculum that prepares them for the challenges of the 21st century.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality Geography lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and teaching standards.
- Promote a deep understanding of Geography, including human, physical, and environmental aspects, with a focus on sustainability.
- Support students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking, analysis, and investigation.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages independent learning, confidence, and academic achievement.
- Participate in co-curricular activities, including field trips and enrichment opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-standard approach to teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help all learners succeed.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate contemporary issues into lessons.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Proven experience in teaching Geography at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission, including a focus on inclusivity and student well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching within an IB or international curriculum.
- Familiarity with the Edexcel specification at GCSE and IBCP levels.
- Experience in organizing and leading fieldwork and extracurricular Geography activities.
- Ability to work flexibly and effectively within a team environment.
