The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of Mathematics to join its successful department on a one-year maternity cover. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic academic environment and support students at GCSE and A level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Mathematics across the Senior School, including at GCSE and A level.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Support the development of students through clinics, drop-in sessions, and extension materials.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with colleagues to share resources and best practices.
  • Encourage student engagement in mathematics through UKMT competitions and enrichment activities.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular and pastoral activities.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and parents to support student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Mathematics education.
  • Ability to teach Mathematics confidently across the Senior School, including at GCSE and A level.
  • Commitment to high academic standards and student support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with UKMT competitions or similar enrichment activities.
  • Familiarity with the use of interactive technology in teaching.
  • Experience in a school with a co-educational or single-sex teaching model.
  • Background in a school with a strong focus on academic excellence and student wellbeing.
  • Experience in pastoral or extracurricular leadership roles.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £34,727- £50,093 full-time equivalent.
