Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning that ensures successful outcomes for all students
  • Plan and prepare courses, schemes of work, and individual lessons tailored to students’ needs and interests
  • Contribute to the refinement and enhancement of the Science curriculum following the school’s transition to AQA
  • Inspire and motivate students through innovative and engaging teaching methods
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to support departmental goals and student achievement
  • Adapt to challenging situations and respond appropriately to ensure a positive learning environment
  • Uphold strong moral and ethical principles in all aspects of teaching and behaviour
  • Promote a culture of integrity and professionalism within the school community

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Science education
  • Passion for Science and a commitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning
  • Proven track record of outstanding progress in external examinations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong moral and ethical principles and values

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation
  • Experience with AQA qualifications
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Experience in Continuing Professional Development
  • Experience in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
