The Opportunity:

As Head of Spanish, you will lead a dedicated and talented MFL team, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and curriculum quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing MFL department, driving improvement and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential in Spanish.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, demonstrating a passion for Spanish and engaging students across KS3 and KS4.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and impactful curriculum.
  • Promote professional development and reflective practice among staff.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, inspiring colleagues and students alike.
  • Ensure alignment with the school’s values of manners, hard work, and honesty.
  • Support flexible working arrangements and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven success in driving strong progress and attainment in MFL.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop colleagues.
  • Demonstrated experience as a classroom practitioner with a track record of high standards in teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
  • Alignment with the school’s values of manners, hard work, and honesty.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a subject department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
