The Opportunity:
As Head of Spanish, you will lead a dedicated and talented MFL team, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and curriculum quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a high-performing MFL department, driving improvement and excellence in teaching and learning.
- Monitor and support student progress, ensuring all pupils achieve their full potential in Spanish.
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning, demonstrating a passion for Spanish and engaging students across KS3 and KS4.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and impactful curriculum.
- Promote professional development and reflective practice among staff.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, inspiring colleagues and students alike.
- Ensure alignment with the school’s values of manners, hard work, and honesty.
- Support flexible working arrangements and contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven success in driving strong progress and attainment in MFL.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop colleagues.
- Demonstrated experience as a classroom practitioner with a track record of high standards in teaching and learning.
- Commitment to professional development and reflective practice.
- Alignment with the school’s values of manners, hard work, and honesty.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a subject department.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
