Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and knowledge-rich science lessons that inspire curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement a rigorous and innovative science curriculum.
  • Support students’ academic and personal development through effective teaching and pastoral care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and continuous professional development.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
  • Stay up to date with scientific developments and incorporate them into teaching practice.
  • Provide individualised support to students to help them reach their full potential.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good honours degree in a relevant science subject.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality science teaching and learning.
  • Demonstrable evidence of outstanding student attainment and achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with educational technology.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in a mixed ability or inclusive classroom setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development or leadership within a science department.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
