Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support student attainment and progress.
- Prepare and assess students in line with AQA GCSE and A Level specifications.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance departmental performance.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Sociology curriculum.
- Monitor and report on student progress and achievement.
- Engage with parents and the wider school community to support student learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Sociology or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the AQA GCSE and A Level specifications.
- Experience of teaching in a secondary school setting.
- Commitment to high standards of classroom management and student achievement.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching Sociology at both GCSE and A Level.
- Experience with exam success and student progression to top universities.
- Experience in a high-performing academic department.
- Experience in professional development and reflective practice.
