The Opportunity:

Join a school's Special Educational Needs Department as a Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Communication and Interaction. This role is essential in supporting students with SEND to achieve their full potential through 1:1 interventions, small group work, and classroom support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEND in the classroom and during 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Work closely with subject leaders and teachers to enhance student progress and attainment.
  • Contribute to the effective operation of the school's SEND provision.
  • Assist in planning and delivering targeted support strategies.
  • Attend departmental meetings and collaborate with the SENDCO and SEND Lead Practitioner.
  • Provide regular updates on student progress and support needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student support.
  • Promote positive behaviour and inclusion within the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting student learning and development.
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting students in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA).
  • Knowledge of Communication and Interaction strategies.
  • Experience in planning and delivering targeted interventions.
