The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Drama and Music Teacher to join our dynamic performing arts department and inspire the next generation of performers. This role offers the chance to deliver engaging lessons, support co-curricular activities, and contribute to a thriving arts programme that nurtures creativity, confidence, and performance skills in students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, performance-led lessons across Key Stage 3 and above, fostering student engagement and creativity.
- Support and contribute to a rich co-curricular programme, including clubs, ensembles, workshops, and school productions.
- Assist in the organisation and delivery of school events, such as concerts, showcases, and theatre visits.
- Cover lessons across the school when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and providing feedback on student progress.
- Collaborate with experienced teaching staff to develop and enhance the performing arts curriculum.
- Encourage students to build confidence in communication, performance, and creative skills.
- Support students in developing teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love of the performing arts.
- Maintain and utilise specialist facilities, including fully equipped drama studios and music resources.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Drama, Music, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the performing arts.
- Experience working with students aged 11–18, in a school, theatre group, or music setting.
- Ability to deliver engaging and creative lessons that support student development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or delivering lessons in both Drama and Music.
- Experience with LAMDA or similar performance qualifications.
- Experience in managing and leading school productions or ensembles.
- Knowledge of GCSE and A Level Music and Drama curricula.
- Experience in covering lessons for absent staff.
