The Opportunity:
As a Technical Theatre Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the school’s technical theatre operations, ensuring that all equipment is designed, maintained, and operated to the highest standards. This role is essential to delivering a dynamic and engaging learning experience for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain all technical theatre equipment across the school.
- Provide expert support and advice to staff and students on the use of technical theatre resources.
- Coordinate the installation and operation of technical theatre equipment for events and productions.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve the technical theatre infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of technical support in performances and events.
- Train and mentor junior technical theatre staff to build a capable and cohesive team.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all technical theatre operations.
- Keep detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in technical theatre operations and support.
- Strong knowledge of stage lighting, sound systems, and set design.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in an educational setting, particularly with students.
- Familiarity with digital and interactive theatre technologies.
- Leadership experience in a team environment.
- Previous experience in strategic planning and project management.
